Depart from Negombo in the morning and make your way to Sigiriya. Discover the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temples, situated high on a rocky cliff. Access the caves through a series of steps and be amazed by the 152 Buddha statues that adorn the five caves. Marvel at the captivating frescoes and paintings that decorate the walls and ceilings. In the afternoon, you have the option to unwind by the hotel pool or embark on an exciting wildlife jeep safari to Minneriya, Kaudulla, or Eco National Park. With a stroke of luck, you may even catch a glimpse of wild elephants. The availability of parks to visit depends on the season, but both Minneriya and Kaudulla are conveniently located near Sigiriya. Finally, treat yourself to a rejuvenating Traditional Ayurvedic treatment at the Thrimal Ayurvedic Center to relax and revitalize your body.

In the early hours of the morning, before the scorching heat takes over, embark on a journey to Sigiriya. This ancient stronghold stands as one of Sri Lanka’s most remarkable attractions. Those who conquer its heights are greeted with breathtaking panoramas. Remember to don sturdy footwear, as the ascent is steep and the terrain uneven. If reaching the summit seems daunting, fear not, for you can still explore the gardens at the rock’s base and capture stunning images of the fortress from below. Following this, indulge in a traditional village tour that offers a glimpse into Sri Lanka’s ancient way of life. Travel by bullock cart and boat across a serene lake, witness a cooking demonstration in a village house, and discover the traditional method of preparing coconut fronds for roofing, among other fascinating experiences.
